It is official: The Jil Sander Group announced today that its founder and namesake will return to the company, on Feb. 28, as Raf Simons leaves after nearly seven years as creative director.
In a statement club soccer jerseys, Ms. Sander characterized those years as “a brief journey” in her personal history with the brand. “Paradigms change and evolve from season to season, but the heart of a brand doesn’t alter,” she said. “It will be a great challenge and a greater joy to design Jil Sander’s contemporary identity. I am convinced that the moment is as favorable as could be wished.”
Mr. Simons will present the fall 2012 collection on Saturday.
